Scout can Earn
While in Cub Scouts, your Scout will have the ability to earn Loops, Pins, Patches, and recognition for the work they put into their scouting adventure! This is not a full list of Awards, but a selection of awards that show to variety of awards your scout can earn and the large number of areas these awards will show to them!
Loops and Pins
Loops and Pins are the most common award pack given out to their scouts! Loops are earned by Lions, Tigers, Wolves, and Bears. While Pins are earned by Webelos and AOLs. Loops and Pins are earned by completing electives from the handbook.
There are many events Pack 216 participates in. Above is the patch we created for our Overnight Camping event on the USS Alabama! we spent the night getting to see all the areas of the ship. We event slept in the beds!
Special Events
Nova Patch
The Nova patch is a Boy Scouts of America award that recognizes Scouts for their first STEM Nova award. the scout will complete a series of requirements and once complete and approved, they can wear their patch.
Pack Pinewood Derby
At our Pinewood Derby, your scout has the ability to race and win at both their Den and at the Pack level!
Trophies can be themed to the event, but all participants get a patch like the one above!
Raingutter Regatta
The Regatta, like the PWD, lets your scout build their own ship and race them one one-on-one against their other den members! this event requires your to put your own wind int eh sails, as you blow your boat down the track.
Birmingham Civil Rights Heritage Trail Award
This is a Council award your den or pack can earn by completing the required trail hike in Downtown Birmingham. You will learN about the Civil Rights era in Birmingham and see many historical landmarks along the way!
